The flagship of the Supreme tow-boat lineup, the S238 can accommodate as many 16 people. The chop-taming, wave-generating V-hull works in conjunction with the QuickFill ballast system, Plug and Play ballast and the available QuickSurf system to fine-tune the wake and wave to every rider’s desire.
The Octo Tower by Skylon enhances the traditional styling of the S238 while offering the optimal elevated tow point. The tower folds down effortlessly for storage. It features a wrinkle-coated finish to match the fresh air vent on the exterior and grab handles inside.
A new large SmoothTrack tracking fin and an option of a second fin combine to keep the S238 tracking straight, even with a rider cutting aggressively in tow. The system also acts as a pivot point to improve handling. Standard power is the PCM 5.7L V-8, but you can upgrade PCM’s H5DI or H6DI for beaucoup pulling power.
There are two distinct gelcoat schemes and 25 color choices, including 12 available metal flakes. For upholstery, choose from a wide range of available shades, accents and textures in Spradling vinyl. Flooring choices include friction snap-out mat, Gator-Step nonskid or carpet.
Our crew surfed the S238 with three people, the QuickFill ballast system full, the Plug and Play port ballast filled 30 percent, and the starboard Plug and Play ballast empty. The QuickSurf was set in the default position.
“The wave was really clean and big,” says tester Emily Dale of Wakeboarding magazine. “Extra weight would have made this wave massive.”
Riders were able to generate speed from the back to cut out and cut back in, says Dale, who also praises the QuickFill system. “It floods the hull using gravity, so it fills really quickly, and emptying is just as easy,” she says. “Just head back to the dock, and the tanks empty while on plane.
“If you’re looking for top-level wakesurfing, the Supreme S238 is a really solid option.”
