Wiley X Sunglasses

We Test the Wiley X Brick Polarized Sunglasses.

Part of the big appeal of sight fishing is, well, seeing the fish. There are a lot of eyewear products-sunglasses-to help you do that, so what stands out about Wiley X? Two words: Wind protection.

I tested a pair of the Brick glasses fishing in both freshwater and salt, and the polarized lenses definitely met the job requirement. With the glasses on, I could spot fish that disappeared when I took them off. Wiley X coats its shatter-resistant lenses with what it calls “Filter 8,” a polarized film. It also has a water repellent coating to prevent spotting.

But what really sets the Wiley X glasses apart is its Climate Control protection, the removable foam gasket that protects the eyes from wind and the elements. I found this particularly useful while boating at high speed in the rain, trying to outrun a thunderstorm. My face felt the sting of heavy drops, my eyes never blinked.
