Yamaha and Sea-Doo Racers Score Top Results at IJSBA World Finals

Sea-Doo racers have now won a record seven consecutive Pro Open IJSBA World Championships.

Team Yamaha and Sea-Doo X-TEAM riders scored wins in premier pro classes at the IJSBA (International Jet Sports Boating Association) Blowsion World Finals, held during the first week of October in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

For the seventh straight year, a Sea-Doo RXP-X rider won the prestigious Pro Open championship, as Kuwait’s Mohammed Burbayea captured his first title in the class. György Kasza of Hungary placed second in Pro Open, also on a Sea-Doo. Kasza won the Pro GP class, with UK rider James Bushell finishing second and Marcus Jorgenson of Denmark in third to complete an X-TEAM podium sweep. Kylie Elmers added a Pro Women’s championship to her résumé aboard a Sea-Doo Centre-backed RXP-X 300.

In the premier Pro Runabout Stock class, also known as the Manufacturers’ Class, Yamaha racers Chris McCluggage, Aero Aswar, and Aqsa Aswar finished first through third on the new Yamaha GP1800 WaveRunner. The veteran racer McCluggage scored second-place finishes in Saturday and Sunday heats to take the title. In Pro Runabout Limited action, Yamaha racers Eric Francis and Yousef Alabdulrazzaq topped the podium, finishing first and second, respectively. Francis won the class on a Stock-class Yamaha GP1800.
