Load guides are optional accessories that make it easier to center the boat on the trailer during loading. Made out of aluminum sheathed in PVC piping, they attach at the rear of the trailer and look like football goal posts. They are particularly helpful if you do a lot of launching or loading in windy conditions or river currents (see _Loading a Trailer in a Crosswind or Current_). Venture Trailers sells its 58-inch-tall load guides for $46 and its 75-inch-tall versions for $81; venturetrailers.com
