Well-known wax and cleaner company Meguiar’s developed its Trailer Corrosion Protectant to extend the lifespan of boat trailers by protecting them against salt spray, rust and corrosion. Meguiar’s said the product creates a barrier that protects against corrosion on both coated and uncoated metal surfaces for months.

Trailer Corrosion Protectant quickly dries after application leaving behind a clear finish. This self-leveling formula covers hard-to-reach components like bolts, screws and tight trailer corners. Additionally, the spray will not harm trailer wiring, paint or wrapped surfaces.

To use, shake the can prior to applying on a cool and clean surface. Make sure surface is dry and free from dust, grease and oils. Next, spray the product from 4” to 5” away onto the metal surface with two to three passes. Apply the protectant in an overlapping continuous fashion until the surface is completely coated. For best results let the first coat dry for a couple of minutes then follow with a second application. Lastly, allow product to self-dry to the touch for at least 10 minutes. Avoid disturbing surface while drying and follow with a touch up spray to coat any missed areas. Product will fully dry in 45-60 minutes.
